Forde for Eastmond

St?Thomas?Member of Parliament Cynthia Forde is backing incumbent Rawle Eastmond in his fight to represent the Opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) in the rural riding of St James North.
“I trust that good sense will prevail and justice too,” she told the WEEKEND?NATION in direct reference to the ongoing impasse between Eastmond and the party’s hierarchy.
Eastmond is due to meet with his constituents on Sunday having already counted himself out of the February 5 nomination process in the constituency he has represented for two decades.
In a December 28 letter to secretary of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) St James North branch, Sabrina Haynes, he formally served notice that he would not take any part in the nomination.
