The event, the third festival in Barbados, attracted a cross section of Barbadians, including many familiar faces who feature prominently in the local film and arts industry.
It was a night when the life and times of Belafonte, known more for the popular song Day-O, was unveiled.
His life on stage, on screen as well as his private life, and heavy involvement in the civil rights movement was captured on film.
Highlights of Penny Hynam’s film A Day in a Bajan Life, and Alison Saunder’s Panama Fever were also shown. (CM)
