Clerics against Obama’s same-sex position

Two men of the cloth have chastised United States President Barack Obama for endorsing same sex marriages, but political scientist and talk show host Peter Wickham believes he has done the right thing.
Twenty-four hours after Obama told ABC?News on Wednesday that he had no issue with same sex partners being able to wed, Dean Dr Frank Marshall of the Anglican Church said the president had taken an unfortunate position, while Baptist minister Rev. Vincent Wood said the decision would lead to Obama’s defeat in the November presidential election.
“I was totally shocked and surprised at the stand taken by President Obama, particularly as one who declared himself to be a Christian,” Wood told the WEEKEND?NATION last night.
“He would most definitely have to be a backslidden Christian [to support it].”
