PINT-SIZED 12-year-old Janina Mayers of Queen’s College, who has impressed as Barbados’ junior volleyball libero and beach volleyball star, can now add the Junior Fitness Bridgetown title to her résumé.
Displaying great flexibility, coordination and fitness, affable Mayers took the title at Combermere School on Saturday night.
Although Mayers was the lone competitor in her division, the drive she displayed matched that of her earlier days of dominating her field as a shy student of Christ Church Girls’ School and showed that her greatest competition was herself. (KB)
