Indian Officer will be the leading contender in the feature Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company Trophy Condition race on the second day of the Barbados Turf Club’s second racing season at the Garrison Savannah, tomorrow.
The day’s exciting nine-race card starts at 1:15 p.m. with the pattern event for three-year-olds attracting nine runners. Four of them have been very impressive winners, all carrying 126 pounds while maidens will take 114 pounds.
Heading the winners’ list is the Joanne Parravicino and Shaun Meil-owned Indian Officer, who has notched up three smooth victories, defeating the other three winners at some point.
Shared Adventure has displayed blistering speed and has made a name for himself in the process. If he is left alone on the lead, the others might only be in time for the leading in.
A.P. Vincero has been a model of consistency, improving with every start, and should be involved in the finish once again. After regularly filling the minor ends of the totem pole, Discreetwon has finally got the job done as he turned away the field in the Grandstand Posse Fifth Anniversary Stakes And Trophy. At his best, place options seem likely.
Aristodemus’ improvement was visible before his maiden success in the Zarmela Handicap over 1570 metres. With further improvement on the cards, he will give fans a better gauge of his progress. Wild Fire is improving but will find difficulty winning once more.
Roars, who is double entered on today’s card, went off the boil with an injury after two impressive second place finishes. Should he take his chance here, his abilities will surely be tested.
Intrepid Dancer (119) has been slowly coming to hand and his turn can’t be far away. Rock Forever appears definitely in need of more time.
The Silver Charm Handicap for three-year and older horses rated 70 to 95 and also open to horses rated 69 and below, over 1 100 metres promises to be a quick affair. Top weight of 133 pounds in this event goes to the Gay Smith-owned Erados and Blue Diamond Stable’s Run Alke Run. Run Alke Run’s stablemate Vitality shoulders 132 pounds.
While the previously mentioned trio have been in good form, this race will be no walkover as the likes of Golden Moment, Meteorite and Must Be The Money have also been in good form and are all capable of winning.
