LIAT to investigate fire

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, June 11, 2012 – The management of LIAT wishes to inform the general public that a large fire which broke out at the Company’s Hangar on Sunday June 10 has been brought under control.
The fire, which started at approximately 10:15pm, destroyed of one of the Company’s hangars, two office block buildings and an aircraft.
Fire Service, Emergency and Law enforcement personnel remain at the scene as an investigation gets underway to determine the cause of the fire.
LIAT maintains its operation from the V.C. Bird International Airport and other regional airports.
LIAT’s management wishes to thank the fire service personnel, members of the security forces and LIAT employees for the role they played in bringing the fire under control.
