The first batch of University of the West Indies (UWI) Cave Hill Campus building and construction management Master’s degree students will graduate shortly.
And yesterday, the group of ten got the opportunity to tour the construction site of the new Barbados Water Authority headquarters in The Pine, St Michael, to learn some new methods involved in the industry.
Construction on the site is being carried out by Innotech Services Limited. They were responsible for the introduction of the programme in collaboration with the university.
Chief executive officer Martin Da Silva said giving the students the opportunity to tour the project and ask pertinent questions would provide them with a chance to gain “valuable experience”.
Coordinator of the programme, Priscilla Glidden, said she welcomed the initiative to have students on the construction site getting a first-hand view of what takes place given that the programme was new. (MM)
Here, all eyes are on the drilling.
