Proposal to take art to Broad St

THE MAIN STREET in Bridgetown could soon look like some of those in major cities around the world.
If the idea planted by Minister of Family, Culture, Sports and Youth Stephen Lashley takes root, Broad Street could be closed to vehicular traffic on Sundays.
Lashley made the suggestion on Sunday prior to opening the Of Bridgetown And Its Garrison exhibition, which runs until July 6 at the Pelican Art Gallery.
He said art played a critical role in the thrust to transform Bridgetown into an area for cultural activity.
