LANDSCAPES and Architectures of BarbadoS is the title of an art exhibition currently underway at The Bridgetown Gallery, Sheraton Centre, Christ Church.
Over 20 artists, all resident in Barbados (and many emerging artists), are showcasing their works during the month-long exhibition.
If you love to see views of Barbados’ landscape and architecture in various mediums, then you’ll be thrilled at the watercolours, oil paintings, acrylics on paper and photographic pieces on display.
Participating artists include Samia Moussa, Goldie Spieler, Andy Pierre, Catharine Cummins, Nyssa Haynes-Holder, Louis Parris, Linda Tudor, Lisle Warner, Tiffani Forde, Sue Trew, Holly Trew, Cathy Atkins, Stephen Smith and Kwami Hunte – among others. Photographers Bob Kiss and Brian Carrington also display a selection of fine photographs for all to view – and of course, purchase.
Among the pieces you’ll definitely fancy would be St John’s Parish Church – a water colour creation by Andy Pierce; The Road To Bathsheba- an oil painting by Samia Moussa; Going Home by Louis Parris; Village Life by Kwami Hunte; Beauty In Architecture by budding artist Tiffani Forde, and East Coast Reflections by Sue Trew. Many other great pieces await your viewing and you’ll be captivated by each artist’s own expression of Barbadian landscapes and architecture – the scenes each painting captured and the stories they tell.
The exhibition runs until month end. (CH)
