BARBADIANS ARE NOT supporting the Barbados Fire And Rescue Service as they should.
Secretary of the Fire Service Week Planning Committee, Carlos Husbands, said interest in their activities had been on the decline. “We advertise but a lot of people shy away,” he said.
Husbands was speaking to the DAILY NATION yesterday after a service at St Mary’s Anglican Church to commemorate the Fire Service’s 57th anniversary. This year’s theme is Health And Safety: Our Vision, Our Focus.
He said he wanted Barbadians to remember that the Fire Service was there to serve them and, in turn, needed their support. (CA)
