Letter to Stuart

ATTORNEY AT LAW David Comissiong is still not satisfied with the conditions under which his Cuban client, Raul Garcia, is being kept.
And yesterday he dispatched a formal letter to Prime Minister Freundel Stuart officially notifying him of his concerns.
Comissiong, who has just recently filed legal action on Garcia’s behalf, is also asking the Prime Minister to take immediate steps “to rectify the unjust and unlawful manner in which Mr Garcia (an immigration detainee) is being treated, even as this matter wends its way through the court system”.
The convicted drug trafficker was last month released into the custody of immigration authorities, having completed a 20-year prison term on cocaine trafficking charges and having been declared a “stateless person” with nowhere to go. (KJ/MB)
