House fire in St Lucy

The firebug struck the home of a St. Lucy Family yesterday morning completely destroying their residence at Sutherland Road No. 1.
According to reports, Jefferson Greaves who resides there with his wife Vernesta Greaves and four-year-old daughter Keanna, was at the time attending the funeral of his mother Esme Greaves who is the owner of the house, at the nearby St. Lucy Parish Church. During the service he received the dreaded news, that the wooden house which he and his family occupied was on fire.
Jefferson, who works at Earl Funeral Home, lost everything in the morning  blaze. When the Midweek Nation visited the scene he was out and about trying to get the assistance and immediate necessities for his family.
Peter Philips the Barbados Labor Party Candidate for St. Lucy was on hand and promised assistance to the family. 
Two water tenders one from the Arch Hall Fire Station and the other from the Weston Station responded to the blaze under the command of Divisional Officer Lloydson Philips, along with eight officers. (RL)
