It was indeed a night of talented ladies who displayed their prowess in song at the Holetown Festival recently, before a large crowd that enjoyed every moment of it.
The band Rhapsody, with vocalists Bianca Boyce and Nicole Pilgrim, started things off with songs like Jamming by Bob Marley and I Am Your Baby, and then brought the crowd to their feet with some soca pieces.
Chereece Chandler showed her skills as she performed Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You, in which she showed a little nervousness but was encouraged by those gathered.
Another lady gracing the stage was Kibibi Greenidge who rendered the well-known Beautiful Barbados, which she dedicated to the many visitors who came in especially for the festival.
She made way for Christal Austin, who used the stage well during her performance and was able to capture her audience with her fine voice.
Also giving a tremendous performance was the Haringey Jazz Band from London, England.
Their display of musical skills earned them requests for encores.
The Holetown Festival has been able to attract hundreds every year for the past 37 years of its existence. (RL)
