Sagicor growth despite crisis

Investors in Sagicor’s mutual funds are smiling with the company achieving returns well above the market average inspite of the tough economic climate.
Wealth manager at the Sagicor Asset Management Inc (SAMI), Omar Kennedy, said yesterday the results of the financial year that ended last September showed double digit growth for the select growth fund and more than a five per cent spurt in the global balanced fund.
Speaking at a Press conference at the company’s Wildey office, Kennedy noted that the Sagicor Select Growth Fund had achieved a return of 10.5 per cent while growth funds in Barbados achieved average returns of 3.6 per cent.
He added that the Sagicor Global Balanced Fund had achieved a return of 5.7 per cent, almost twice the 2.9 per cent market average. (MK)
