HUNDREDS OF FANS made merry with the famous Merrymen on Saturday night to celebrate two momentous occasions – the birthday of lead singer Emile Straker, who turned 77 yesterday, and the group’s 50th year in the music industry.
Band members Straker, Chris Gibbs, Robin Hunte, Willie Kerr and Peter Roett had the Yacht Club on Bay Street Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot, as visitors and locals mingled and conversed and danced the night away.
The group, who have done Barbados proud over the years, also sang many of their favourite hits such as Big Bamboo and Beautiful Barbados, bringing back beautiful memories.
