The majority of schools might have been missing but those who were there enjoyed their moment in the limelight.
And in the end, St Leonard’s Boys’ and the girls of Lester Vaughan came out tops in the preliminary of the one-off Barbados National Secondary Schools Athletics Championships at the Police Sports Club, Weymouth, St Michael, yesterday.
St Leonard’s were dominant in the sprints and had the satisfaction of gaining a 1-2 finish in the Under-17 Boys’ 100 metres won by Reco Griffith (No. 1671), ahead of Jacquone Hoyte (right).
