‘Nobody told me about roadblock’

Speightstown businessman Austin Husbands was fuming yesterday when he turned up at his La Bouche Wine Bar and Restaurant to find the road barricaded.
Husbands said he later learnt that the road between the Esplanade and the old Almond Hotel was closed to facilitate an international filming crew.
He said that no one had informed him of the event and as a result his delivery trucks were unable to access the road for about three hours.
“When I?got here this morning there was a police officer standing by the barricade and he told me no one would be allowed in the area because a crew was filming,”?Husbands said.
“Then this guy came up to me and told me that the BTA was sponsoring the event and there was nothing I could do about it. This is total disrespect by the Barbados Tourism Authority. How can they inform the police and everybody else but not the people who have businesses?” (MB)
