Medicine on her mind

SHERECE MAYERS will soon be one of Barbados’ leading paediatricians, at least if all of her plans come to fruition.
The tiny teenager is a former student of The Alexandra School and has seven CXC passes already under her belt.
She plans to attend the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies in 2014 to start on the path to medical school and says she wants to become a paediatrician because “I have always loved children.
“Right now I do a lot of babysitting just so I can be around them, and I want to be a doctor so I can combine my love of kids with my need to help them”.
In her spare time, the 18-year-old can be found hanging out with her friends or indulging in her other love: hair braiding.
