BWU endorses new BWA project

The Barbados Water Authority’s (BWA’s) long mooted Water Rehabilitation Programme is finally close to fruition.
The programme, which will see water from urban Barbados pushed into the drought-affected rural areas, is expected to start later this year, now that the Barbados Workers Union has received a final proposal from the BWA.
After a three-hour meeting for BWA staff at Solidarity House, the BWU headquarters yesterday Sir Roy described the rehabilitation programme as a win-win for everyone.
He said the Government proposal would allow Barbados to better utilize its water resources.
“They want to start this as soon as possible. They would love to have the project completed in about a year.”
