The?Banks Breweries Complex in Wildey, St Michael which the People’s Cathedral church is hoping to buy is back on the real estate market – but only until Tuesday.
SUNDAY?SUN investigations reveal that the deal for the sale of the building to the church recently fell through because the People’s Cathedral was unable to come up with the $12 million more needed to complete the sale.
However, while a “for sale” sign was recently erected outside the Banks complex by real estate agent Terra Caribbean it is understood that the People’s Cathedral has asked Banks Holdings for time to come up with the money. As a result, the sign will be removed on Tuesday.
When contacted yesterday, Sophia Cambridge, corporate communications officer at Banks Holdings, said chief executive officer Richard Cozier had no comment to make on the recent developments but she confirmed that the sign would be removed.
