THERE IS SOMETHING that is bothering me that I need to get off of my chest. A man called in on The Things We Do For Love on Voice of Barbados about two weeks ago and denied that he had given a certain woman herpes.
I want people to know that what that woman said was true. He did give her herpes. I know because it was me who gave it to him.
I knew it was him on the programme from his voice. When I listened to Cupid (host Ian Gill) and I heard this man’s voice on the radio making out the girl to be a liar, I knew I needed to confess.
I don’t want to go on the programme because I don’t want him to hear my voice, as we talk as usual. He is dealing with so many of us that he doesn’t know who gave him.
Get tested
I want him to know that there are a lot of STDs going around and he is not going to know when he gets one, so he needs to go and get tested.
I got herpes from a guy I was dealing with. That guy knows and I know, but I never told anybody else. This guy used to give me everything. We were involved for two years.
I found out about a year ago that I have herpes. I found out I was infected after a rash came up on my buttocks and the two of us went to the doctor together. That is how we found out that we had it.
After I found out I was infected, I was angry, so I stopped dealing with that man.
But I never told this other man that I had it. He was only interested in getting into me. I gave it to him because he has to learn to take his place; he is too fast and every woman he sees he wants. I am young enough to be his daughter.
Slowed down
The reason I gave him too, is because he is always talking about how women come on to him; so if his intention is to be out there behind the young women he has to be slowed down.
He is 66 years old and he is a user. He flirts with everybody, especially women like me in their 20s and 30s.
When he meets you, whatever you tell him, he thinks it is true so as a young person you can get over him. Older men are easy to fool. You can run rings round around their head. We young women can wrap them around our fingers.
I do not normally have sex without condoms, but he kept insisting that he didn’t want to use a condom. He was always saying he doesn’t like using condoms.
To be honest, I wasn’t really going to go with him, but he harasses you; he comes after you. So I sat down and told myself if that was what he wanted, that was what he would get.
Older guy
No money was involved in our relationship. He is an older guy but looks good and has a nice car. As the woman said on the radio, he limes in a lively spot. I was going around with him because I wanted a friend, but he didn’t want anything steady. It seems he was going around with the girl that called in on the programme.
Since finding out I have herpes, I have dealt with five men but I always use condoms. But this old man was different.
He insisted on not using condoms. He lives alone and takes you by him. He likes all types of sex. But he irritates you by always telling you about other women – that is what pushed me to give him what I gave him.
He and men like him need to investigate women for a good while to find out what type of people they are before they try to have sex with them without a condom.
I am putting this in the paper so people would know they should always protect themselves.
