Balancing act on open day

All children should have a hearing test before they enter school.
That is the advice of audiologist of the Albert Cecil Graham Development Centre, Jan Wickham, who was speaking yesterday as the centre, which provides such evaluation, held an open day.
Wickham said some parents and caregivers were very observant and if they saw that by age two or three the child was not speaking or not responding when called by name, or to loud sounds, or if they had frequent ear infections, they should heed these warning signs.
Also on display was the physiotherapy and occupational therapy department with therapists sharing the variety of therapy and exercises used to assist with the children’s development.
