Down came the wall

WORKERS FROM THE Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) dismantled part of a guard wall on a private property at the corner of Maxwell Road and Oistins Hill in Christ Church yesterday.
MTW employees, using heavy equipment, worked on the wall under a directive from the Town and Country Planning Department, which said the structure was more than the stipulated four feet in height  and posed a danger.
Representatives from Town and Country Planning as well as police officers watched as the wall on the Maxwell Road side was demolished and the wall leading to Gall Hill was reduced to the stipulated height.
In an article published in the May 5 SUNDAY SUN, Charles Burrowes, owner of the property, said he had been notified of the fault with the wall. (AH)
