The following is an edited statement from Sir Frederick Smith on the passing of Sir Richard Haynes:
SIR RICHARD HAYNES made a significant contribution to Barbados.
He was an excellent doctor and made a contribution to medicine.
He made a mistake by leaving the DLP and forming the NDP. He should have stuck with the DLP and he might have been Prime Minister. But we all make mistakes. He was a good man and we will miss him. (SP)
