ONE OF BARBADOS’ MOST successful hockey coaches wants the Barbados Hockey Federation (BHF) to stop overlooking local instructors for its job as national coach.
With the BHF having hired three international coaches within the past four years, albeit with limited success, Ralph Watson believes that there are local coaches who are more than capable of doing the job.
His comments came after learning that the BHF were on the hunt for a high performance coach via an email from the Pan American Hockey Federation.
“I really don’t think that I should have to find out that the BHF are looking for a coach through a newsletter from the Pan American Hockey Federation,” the former national coach told WEEKEND SPORT in an interview.
