Carter, Benn star in Barbados Super50 victory

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – Jonathan Carter made a stroke-filled 109 as Barbados beat Trinidad and Tobago by 28 runs in a thrilling Match 4 of the NAGICO Super50 tournament last night at Queen’s Park Oval.
In front a colourful crowd of over 5 000 fans, Man of the Match Carter hit nine fours and five towering sixes as the Bajans made 269 for eight in a match reduced to 45 overs. He added 103 for third wicket with Dwayne Smith who scored 83 off 72 balls. That knock included ten fours and three sixes.
In reply, Trinidad and Tobago were bowled out for 241 off 43.3 overs. Lanky left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn (four for 39) and tall pacer Jason Holder (three for 29) were outstanding with the ball.
