I have a problem that I think you might be able to solve. I am nearly 18 years old and still at school. There is this girl in my district who is 17 years old and also still at school.
My problem is that I like this girl and care for her, but I don’t know how to tell her. There were many opportunities when I could have told her, but the words just don’t seem to flow.
I know this girl has some sort of liking for me because she looks at me intently, especially when I am with her brother. I can see the love in her eyes.
I do not want to lose her as a friend who could make me happy, but I care for her much more than a friend. Please tell me what to do.

Take courage. If you are finding it difficult to express your feelings for this girl in words, drop her a note. If you can get access to her cell number, send her a text message and make sure you identify who you are. Your message or note need not be too impassioned. A simple declaration of what you are feeling would be enough. Also, be sure you let her know that you would like to be her friend.
Since you are both young people who are still at school, I urge you not to allow any feelings you may have for each other to get in the way of your school work or further education.
In short, maintain a balanced life – school, play, friends and studies.
