IT WAS MAS’ in the afternoon yesterday as the first Joukanal Carnival took to the streets.
Close to 1 000 revellers in about 11 bands jammed behind one music truck from the Party Stand on the Harbour Road, along Spring Garden to the Frank Worrell Roundabout at the bottom of University Drive and back to the Party Stand, where festivities continued late into the night at an after-party.
The spirited revellers got a good report card from the police, who said it was an incident-free jump-up from a security perspective.
