PEOPLE: Sherene Blackett

Sherene Blackett loves crunching numbers as president of Longview Associates Limited, a Barbados registered company which provides management, accounting, corporate secretarial, tax and other administrative services to many different companies, trusts and foundations registered in Barbados as well as other jurisdictions.
The 38-year-old interest in business studies began while at Harrison College and continued at the University of the West Indies, where she achieved a bachelor of science in accounting with first class honours. Upon graduating she started a career in auditing at what was then Coopers and Lybrand, now PriceWaterhouseCoopers. She completed studies while there in her ACCA designation.
Even though her career was progressing rapidly in the auditing field, after three years she made the decision to change her career path and commenced a journey into the international financial services sector with a client accounting post in CIBC Wealth Management. Gaining a wealth of experience in the international business sector in Barbados and the Cayman Islands, she was able to move into a supervisory role and eventually got a director’s role on international business companies.
Mum to daughter Nishani Dahoma, eight years old and son Kehnan Dahoma, six, the head honcho at LongView Associates attributes her success to hard work and dedication and having built sound client relationships where commitment to excellent service is paramount.
The vision statement: To be the best at what we do and to enjoy being the best at what we do. (NS)
