Champion British race driver Lewis Hamilton created a stir of excitement when he arrived at the official residence of British High Commissioner Victoria Dean last night for a reception celebrating the staging of the Top Gear Festival, which starts today in Barbados.
Speaking briefly, the World Championship winner told the cheering guests how excited he also was.
“To be the first one to come here and drive a Formula One car here is just unbelievably amazing. I am very, very proud to be up here and representing for the Caribbean and also for the UK.”
He thanked Top Gear for having him after Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson had told the guests that 85 per cent of the people attending the festival would be going to see Hamilton in action. (GC)
