A main vista along the Spring Garden Highway has been given a makeover in time for Crop Over as Mount Gay Distilleries Ltd continues its investment in local human resource training, an area seen as critical to supporting success in the global vision for the most storied rum brand.
Staff of the company combined on Friday May 9 to paint a new mural on Mount Gay’s perimeter wall along the Spring Garden Highway as they culminated another in the company’s ongoing series of high performance team training and activities.
The all-day activity for staff members was also an opportunity for them to share in the company’s vision and strategy for 2014/2015 while combining in a team-building activity to depict aspects of the heritage and culture of Mount Gay and Barbados on the landmark wall.
Entitled The One Team Meeting, it was the second such event held by Mount Gay Distilleries since November last year, when the company began the high performance staff training programme administered by international consulting agency, McKinney Rogers.
Teamwork also featured heavily on that occasion, which ended with staff members forming three teams to build replica rum shops in record time.
Managing director of Mount Gay Distilleries Ltd, Raphael Grisoni, said the event provided staff with a chance to reflect on the rich heritage of both Mount Gay and Barbados.
“We believe in the potential of our staff to be world-class, and this high performance training series is designed to bring that potential to the fore, and to transform traditional approaches into a high performance culture aligned to the Mount Gay vision and mission,” he said.
