The planned return of the pleasure craft Harbour Master for this year’s Crop Over season has been cancelled.
Management yesterday confirmed that the popular party boat would no longer be making the trip from its current home base in Trinidad for the final two weeks of the Crop Over Festival in Barbados.
“We have not been able to secure a permanent place for the ship to dock and we are not comfortable with it [Harbour Master] just being tied up in the water,” Adrian Sconn, general manager of Harbour Tours Limited in Port of Spain, told the MIDWEEK NATION yesterday.
Sconn said the cancellation was a big disappointment for his company since the response for the planned trip to Barbados was overwhelming.
“All of us are disappointed about this logistical problem since we got fantastic response from Barbados. Everybody was excited and I’m sure with the boat there, it would have been a phenomenal two weeks.”
