A 43-YEAR-OLD martial arts instructor is expected to appear in court today charged with four drug offences.

He is Ronald Philip of McCleans Gap, Brittons Hill, St Michael who has been charged with possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of eight pounds of cannabis.

Police say members of the Customs and Excise Department at the airport carried out a search of a consignment of foodstuff which arrived from Jamaica on August 22.

Seventeen packages of compressed cannabis were discovered among the items and further investigations by members of the Drug Squad led to the arrest of Philip the same day.

He is to appear at the District “B” Magistrates Court. (PR/NB)
