Weed found in seasoning

POLICE HAVE ARRESTED and charged two men following the seizure of two pounds of cannabis concealed in bottled seasoning.

They are 56-year-old Amos Wilberforce Andrews of Fitts Gap, Westbury Road, St Michael and Martin Andrew Griffith of Bay Street, St  Michael who will appear in court tomorrow on charges of possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation.

According to police, members of the enforcement unit of the Customs and Excise Department carried out a search yesterday of a consignment containing seasoning which arrived from Jamaica and was placed in a cargo bond at the airport.

The search revealed the drug concealed within the bottled seasoning.  Further investigations led to the arrest of the mentioned persons. (PR/NB)
