Constable granted bail

Police Constable Renair Romel Jemmott appeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with bribery.

Jemmott, 28, who is attached to the Traffic Division is accused of engaging in wilful misconduct and abuse of public trust by demanding payment for the discontinuance of two traffic offences.

The constable of Lewis Gap, Green Hill, St Michael was granted $5 000 bail with one surety and the matter has been adjourned until January 27.

Jemmott was arrested yesterday after an undercover operation at Queen’s Park in the City. (TS)
