AN ABANDONED CAR has residents of Brighton, St Michael, fuming.
The car has been there for more than three weeks, following what appears to be an accident.
The story concerning it changes, depending on whom you talk to; but the underlying truth is the same in all cases: no one knows for sure exactly what happened to or what is happening with the damaged vehicle.
“That has got to be a police issue,” said one resident who declined to be identified.
He said he had grown so accustomed to the sight, he no longer took much notice of it. However, he speculated that the owner of the property, beside which the car was left, could not be too happy.
Another resident, again requesting anonymity, called the sight “disgraceful”.
“I just got up and saw it there one morning. All I know is, everybody is saying it doesn’t concern them. It is disgraceful,” she said.
The road leads to the beach and the popular beach bar Weisers. However, management there, while acknowledging the car, also had no idea how it got there.
When contacted, police public relations officer Inspector David Welch said he would look into the situation. (CA)
