DEFENDING CHAMPIONS Barbados Pride have been bounced from the NAGICO Super50 cricket competition.
Today at Shaw Park, Tobago, Barbados were bowled out for 319 in 49 overs, falling short of the Windward Islands Volcanoes total of 374 for six off 50 overs by 55 runs.
Despite a fighting 81 by captain Kevin Stoute and half centuries from Shamarh Brooks (62) and Shai Hope (56), Barbados could not overhaul the target.
Volcanoes received a great start from opener Johnson Charles who scored 177, while Sunil Ambris was not out on 45, the same score as Shane Shillingford.
Guyana Jaguars and Combined Campuses and Colleges are currently playing in the other Group A match at Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad to decide the semi-finalists from this section.
