A POSTMAN and an unemployed single mother were yesterday remanded to HMP Dodds until February 20 on charges related to forging pension cheques.

Dwayne Brathwaite of Eckstein Village, Black Rock, St Michael, and Roslyn Alleyne of Ruby, St Philip, faced a total of 70 fraud charges when they appeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court.

Brathwaite, a postman at the St George Post Office, has been accused by police of stealing a number of pension cheques, while Alleyne is alleged to have received the stolen cheques sometime between last September and earlier this month and presented them to a business where they were cashed. (SP)
