Warrens folk upset over use of land

RESIDENTS OF Warrens Park South, St Michael, have a problem with a property in the area.

It all surrounds the excavation of topsoil mixed with factory mud and manure, stockpiled and sold by the truckload mere feet from their homes.

Several members of the Warrens Park South Community Watch told the DAILY NATION that the mining started late last year on land between the D’Arcy Scott roundabout and the development that borders Clermont Road; property recently acquired by an unnamed “private investor”.

Another major concern was that Jose Y. Jose Liquid and Solid Waste Management, the company carrying out the work, allowed trucks to access the land via an area where the mud blocked drains, creating the potential for flooding. (SDB Media)
