IF THE CROWD for the opening game last weekend of the 2015 Virgin Atlantic/Diamonds International “Battle of the Sexes polo tournament is anything to gauge by, this Sunday will provide Barbados Polo Club president Wayne Archer with another headache to find parking for the scores of spectators expected to converge on Holders mainly in support of the women.
With the Virgin women’s team leading the Diamonds men 2–1 in the four-game series, the stage is set for an exciting climax when the grand finale comes off tomorrow at the popular Holders grounds in St James.
Fresh from a series equaliser on Tuesday at the same venue, the Virgin women stopped the Diamonds men in their tracks with a good all-round performance to come away with a 4-3 victory at the Apes Hill Polo Field on Thursday. (CH)
