LAST NOVEMBER, work commitments had Sean Carter on the verge of withdrawing from Bank On Me – just one month after the competition was officially launched.
On Tuesday, he was collecting thousands of dollars in prizes and receiving widespread praise after beating two dozen competitors and emerging as the latest winner of the reality television show for entrepreneurs.
The 39-year-old managing director of Rhema Cooling Air Conditioning Services reflected on a challenging but ultimately rewarding journey at the Cave Hill School of Business, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, where he was the centre of attention.
He also eagerly looked forward to expanding his business, focusing on the importation, installation and maintenance of solar thermal air-conditioning units, most likely with the help of new investors. Business expansion, including more employees, and entry into the export market are planned.
“I have been favoured by God to have won this competition because it is very very competitive,” he said. “. . . The final six [were all] very good entrepreneurs. Everybody that was in the top three are fantastic guys with fantastic businesses.
“So to be able to have won is really the favour of God, but at the same time I would have worked very very hard for the last ten years so . . . it is not a fluke either because I believe the harder I work, the more blessed I become.”
