Bajan doubles duo move on

BARBADIAN girls are keeping the national flag flying in doubles play of the ScotiaBank/ITF/ Barbados International Junior Tennis tournament at the National Tennis Centre.

The local team of Kiana Marshall and Cherise Slocombe, ranked No. 2 in the tournament, yesterday dispatched Pamela Richter and Maria Riviera-Colorado of Guatemala in straight sets (6-4, 6-1) in a commanding display in the Girls’ Under-18 doubles.

The Barbadians started slowly but once they were able to produce serves and measure their groundstrokes, they took control and dominated their opponents.
