New school for disabled people opens

BARBADOS TODAY OPENED a $20 million state-of-the-art education facility for people with disabilities.

The Derrick Smith School & Vocational Centre will cater to both children and adults with disabilities.

At the launching ceremony Prime Minister Freundel Stuart told Barbadians not to forget that people with disabilities also had abilities.

The centre was bankrolled by philanthropist Derrick Smith but the Barbados Government will fund the operating costs. (TY)
