Squash’s travelling man on record roll

The man who is named in the Guinness Book Of World Records for playing the most games of competitive squash is in Barbados.

Englishman Sam Balston is competing in the Over-55 section of the eighth annual BCQS/Jammin International Masters Squash Masters at the Marine Courts. Yesterday, in what is proving to be the biggest tournament of its kind in the Caribbean, he completed his 3 501st game.

Balston recalled that he played his first competitive match on November 25,1974.

He said he stores the dates, the competitions, the courts he played on and the names of his opponents.
