PM Stuart congratulates President Granger

PRIME MINISTER Freundel Stuart has congratulated the President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Brigadier David Arthur Granger, on his recent electoral victory.

In a letter to President Granger, he said: “As your CARICOM brother, I look forward to working with you in fulfilling the dreams of our ancestors for a vibrant and resilient Caribbean community of nations, and to receiving you in Barbados, as we host the 36th Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM, from July 2 to 4, 2015.”

Stuart asked the President to extend his best wishes to Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo and all the members of his coalition team. “May God bless you and your nation richly as you undertake this new period in Guyanese history,” he wrote.

The Prime Minister also praised the citizens of Guyana for their patience and discipline as they awaited the results of the elections.

Stuart will attend the inauguration ceremony for Brigadier Granger on Tuesday, May 26, also Guyana’s Independence Day, at the National Stadium.  Brigadier Granger was sworn in as the eighth Executive President of Guyana on Saturday, May 16. (BGIS)
