THE ALL-CLEAR has been given and officials are moving to return Combermere students back to their Waterford, St Michael home on June 8.

Minster of Education Ronald Jones told the DAILY NATION yesterday all the dredging and environmental studies had been completed and industrial cleaning of the entire compound was under way.

“Some of the walls were affected by movement of odour so we thought it best, along with all the agencies involved, that rather than just clean the affected four or five rooms, [we would] do a general cleaning of the entire school, every nook and cranny. We have two industrial cleaners on site so that we can speed up that process,” Jones said.

The minister said that even though the all-clear had been given, they did not want to return until the entire place was cleaned.
