Road tennis title up for grabs tonight

THE 2014 CHAMPION Kim Holder will defend her Touch of Class Freida Nicholls road tennis crown when the finals climax tonight at the Deighton “Pa” Roach Centre in Bush Hall.

Holder will face Abigail Haynes who was the last woman to defeat the champion which was almost eight years ago in a Racquets of Fire semi-finals.  Last night Holder defeated last year’s losing finalist Rachel Smith 21-15, 21-11.  Haynes also qualified for the finals in straight sets stopping Sheldene Walrond 21-18, 21-15.

kim-holderHolder can see the three titles going to her home in St. George.  Holder and her daughter Kyana Holder will play in the doubles finals against Walrond and Susan Scantlebury while Kyana will meet Jalesa Holder-Vaughan in the B class finals.

Last night Kyana defeated Andisha Howell in a rescheduled semi-finals 21-15, 21-17. (KB)
