GOVERNMENT came under some heavy fire last night for a “costly” arrangement it entered into with Preconco Limited to provide low-income housing in Barbados.
A fiery Opposition Leader Mia Mottley charged that the company had benefited to the tune of millions of dollars, at the expense of taxpayers.
Mottley, in her Budget Reply in the House of Assembly, said while some Barbadians were still awaiting their income tax and VAT refunds, and some businesses were having problems paying their bills, one company was getting millions of dollars.
