THE YOUNGEST of the four women in the Pic-O-De Crop semi-finals is hoping to do exactly what she did last year, but a little better.
Defending 13 to 18 Junior Monarch, Sammy G, drew 18th place when the draw took place at the National Cultural Foundation yesterday. The nearest female to her is Donella, who drew position 12; Enobong is appearing eighth and Chrystal Cummins-Beckles is at five.
Sammy G finds herself in a similar position to 2014, when she was a semi-finalist in the adult competition one night and a finalist in the juniors the following night. She emerged as the reserve for the Pic-O-De-Crop and finished in winner’s row in the juniors.
“[I will] try and get into the Finals. Saturday night I will try to be in the top three for Junior Monarch,” she said, adding that she was not surprised she made it through because she did her best.
