LAST YEAR’S DERBY WINNER Voldemort made his first return to the winner’s enclosure under a superb ride by jockey Kyle Carter yesterday at the Garrison Savannah on the Passing Parade Raceday.
Rain on Friday and early yesterday morning made conditions good to soft and provided the perfect tonic for some fantastic and close finishes.
One of those riveting finishes saw the Bills Inc.-owned Voldermort denying long-time leader Reward Me, under jockey Anderson Trotman, in a pulsating stretch duel.
Having broken on top in the feature Sheila Parravicino Memorial Trophy Handicap over 2 000 metres for three-year-old and older horses rated 80-62 and also open to those rated 61 and below, Carter took his charge out of the firing line.
